Hambleton North
Hambleton North has one town - Stokesley - and one large village - Great Ayton. Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) Schemes are registered in both locations.
21 of the surrounding villages/hamlets have NHW Schemes, and 2 do not.
So in effect 23 out of 25 towns/villages in Hambleton North are covered by NHW, although some of the schemes are a lot less active than others.
There have been no new NHW set-ups in Hambleton North during the last 3 months.
NHW Co-ordinators from 11 of the 23 locations attended the last meeting of the Hambleton North NHW Scheme on 20th April 2010.
Representing the Police were Inspector Andy Criddle and Sergeant Nick Walther from Stokesley SNT. In attendance was Erica Taylor, Independent Member, North Yorkshire Police Authority.
Inspector Criddle and Sergeant Walther briefed the meeting on North Yorkshire Police
Force structural changes and Hambleton North Safer Neighbourhood Team changes. Local initiatives were reviewed and satisfactory progress was noted.
The next meeting of the Hambleton North NHW Scheme will be the AGM in October 2010; the exact date will be confirmed in August.

Hambleton South
ELAPNWA, the Easingwold and District Neighbourhood Watch Assn., was established in May 2002 and is the only Association in South Hambleton.
It covers the 150 square miles policed by the Easingwold Safer Neighbourhood Team, which includes Easingwold town and the many surrounding villages. Nearly all of the villages have comprehensive Neighbourhood Watch coverage and the number of Watches in the town continues to increase. Each year, in May, a public meeting is held at the Galtres Centre in Easingwold to hear an invited speaker, following which the AGM of the Association takes place. Usually there is an attendance of about 60 people.
The total number of Coordinators in the whole of Hambleton South is approximately 210 - (130 in the Easingwold SNT area and 80 in the Thirsk SNT area.
